“Broad Chalke calling Danny Boy… come in Broad Chalke!” 📡 (A little nod to Where Eagles Dare — though this mission’s all about connecting Wiltshire, not wartime Austria.)
We’re proud to share another milestone in connecting rural communities.
At Broad Chalke in Wiltshire, NET Coverage Solutions has partnered with the Church of England to help bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas.
Our Neutral Host, BTS-driven passive solution provides wideband coverage (600 MHz – 6 GHz) and is designed to support all four UK MNOs.
For now, Vodafone is the lead operator on this site, delivering reliable 2G and 4G connectivity throughout the village using a single 5 W E/// radio — achieving download speeds around 100 Mbps.
To preserve the church’s heritage, the antennas were hand-painted on site, showing how modern connectivity can be added with minimal visual impact on historic buildings.
The coverage maps below show just how much improvement this installation has brought to the local community.
With over 18,000 churches in rural locations — often right at the heart of their villages — the Church of England portfolio represents a huge opportunity to extend meaningful connectivity across the UK.
If this sounds like a solution that could help your network or community, get in touch — we’d love to talk.
